Privacy Policy
This policy explains what TLC Electrical collects when you request service, why, how it is protected, and your choices.
Effective date: July 18, 2026
About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TLC Electrical (operating as “Top Level Charging”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information in connection with this website and the TLC Electrical iOS app (together, the “Services”). By using the Services or submitting a service request, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
Who we are
TLC Electrical (operating as “Top Level Charging”) is an electrical services business based in Huntington Beach, California, serving Southern California. CSLB License #1154997 | C-10 Electrical Contractor This Policy applies to this website and the TLC Electrical iOS app.
Information you provide
We collect the information you choose to provide when you request an estimate or service. That is:
- Your name
- Your contact detail (a phone number or email) and preferred contact method
- The type of service and a description of the work you need
- General job area (for example, a city or ZIP code)
- Preferred timing and any access notes you add
- Job-site photos you choose to attach to an estimate request (for example, of your electrical panel or install area). Photos are optional; embedded location metadata (GPS coordinates cameras add to image files) is removed from every photo before it is stored, and we never read or keep that location data.
You do not need to create an account to contact us.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website, our hosting and security providers process limited technical data needed to deliver the Services reliably and safely, including:
- Your IP address and standard server-log data (such as request time and basic browser or device information), used for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. An IP address can indicate a general, city-level region; we do not collect precise or GPS location.
- Strictly necessary cookies used only to operate secure, authenticated areas (such as the Athenaeum, our internal workspace, and customer portal). We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.
- Cookieless, aggregate site analytics and page-performance measurement provided by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), covering public pages only. These measurements use no cookies, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-site tracking; internal administrative pages and any pages carrying request-reference identifiers are excluded from measurement entirely, and your request details are never included.
What we do not collect
- No payment or financial information
- No precise or GPS location. If a photo you upload contains embedded location metadata, it is removed before the photo is stored.
- No file uploads other than the optional job-site photos described above. Only standard image files are accepted, and each upload is validated before storage.
- No advertising identifiers and no cross-site tracking. Site analytics are limited to the cookieless, aggregate measurements described above. The iOS app contains no tracking, no analytics, and no ad SDKs.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your request, scope the work, schedule, and complete the job
- Communicate with you about your request
- Operate, secure, and prevent abuse of the Services
- Keep business records and comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Communications and consent
By providing a phone number or email and a preferred contact method, you consent to be contacted about your request through those methods. Message and data rates may apply to any text messages you agree to receive. We contact you about your service request; we do not add you to marketing lists without your agreement, and you may ask us to stop non-essential communications at any time.
How we share information
We share your information only as described here:
- Service providers: vendors that process data solely to provide their function on our behalf (see below), under obligations of confidentiality.
- Legal and safety: when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TLC Electrical, our customers, or others, or to prevent fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With your direction: when you ask us to share it or otherwise consent.
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law (see “Do not sell or share” below).
Service providers
We use a small number of providers strictly to operate the Services, each processing data only to provide its function, and each subject to its own terms and privacy practices:
- Website and app-backend hosting
- Our service database, where your request is stored
- Private photo storage, provided by our hosting provider, where any photos you attach are kept. Photos are never public, are accessible only to authorized staff, and location metadata is removed before storage
- Transactional email, used to notify our team of a new request
- Abuse-prevention (rate limiting), which processes only your IP address, never your request details
- Cookieless site analytics and performance measurement, provided by our hosting provider; aggregate page-level data only, never your request details
- Encrypted backups of our service database, stored with our code hosting provider and retained for a limited period to protect against data loss; backup files are encrypted before storage
Using the iOS app
The app keeps your in-progress draft and your submitted-request history on your device. It sends a request to us only when you review it and tap submit. You can optionally save your contact details (name, contact, and preferred method only) on your device for convenience, and turning that option off erases them. The app collects no analytics and no location.
Data retention
We keep service-request records for as long as needed to provide service and to meet our legal, tax, and business obligations, then delete or archive them. We may retain limited records longer where required to resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or comply with applicable law.
Photos attached to an estimate request are deleted from storage automatically after 365 days, and you may ask us to delete them sooner at any time using the contact details below.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, and submitted requests are accessible only to authorized TLC Electrical staff through an authenticated, non-public internal workspace. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you provide information to us at your own risk.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us using the details in “How to contact us” below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Do not sell or share
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act). We have not done so in the preceding twelve months.
Do Not Track
We do not track visitors across third-party websites, and we do not allow third parties to collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites through the Services. Because no such tracking occurs, the Services do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” signals; every visitor already receives the same tracking-free experience.
Children
The Services are intended for prospective and existing customers and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
The Services may link to third-party websites or programs (for example, an accreditation profile or a utility rebate program). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties, and this Policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information.
Where the Services are offered
The Services are offered from the United States and are intended for customers in California. We do not intend the Services for individuals located outside the United States. If you access the Services from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
Governing law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
